Pacific white shrimp, whiteleg shrimp
They live in tropical marine habitats. Upon the success and discovery of unilateral ablation with adequate nutrition, the commercial culture of Litopenaeus vannamei began in South and Central America. Since the early 2000s, Asia has increased production of this species and have exceeded production over P. monodon due to several favourable factors.
