Biology
The body of the kuruma shrimp is pale with uninterrupted brown bands on its carapace and abdominal segments. Red pereiopods and pleopods. The telson and uropodswith red, blue and yellow tinge. Mainly inhabiting bays and inland seas which tend to be influenced by warm currents. Spawning begins when water temperature exceeds 20°C, and under low salinity conditions. The maximum size is 27cm in length.The rostrum with 9 to 11 dorsal and 1 ventral teeth.They are closed thelycum species.
