Aquaculture Production
P. monodon was the predominant species of shrimp aquaculture in the 1980s to 1990s, but L. vannamei has taken over since duemultiple aquaculture benefits. Major producers of P. monodoninclude Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Myanmar.
